How To SOLVE Computer Hang / Freeze

Posted 1 CommentPosted in TECHNOLOGY

How many time has it happened when you are working on your computer and suddenly your computer hangs or freezes? Almost all of us have faced this problem. Now-a-days in Windows 10 days, it doesn’t happen frequently but in good ol’ Windows 98 and Windows XP days, it used to happen occasionally.

When the computer hangs/freezes or enters into “Not Responding” state, nothing works except the mouse cursor/pointer. We can move the mouse cursor here and there but if we click on an icon or Start button, nothing works. No program opens, no Start Menu shows, nothing. Only one thing works i.e. the mouse cursor.

Let’s go back to our discussion! When your computer hangs and you are able to move mouse cursor, there are certain things which can be done to solve the issue and make your computer working again.

Today in this tutorial, we’ll discuss some points which should be remembered and followed if your computer hangs or freezes. These tips will work in almost all Windows versions such as Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10. If you are using Windows Server editions, these methods will also work for you.

NOTE: If the mouse cursor also doesn’t work when your computer hangs, it might be a hardware problem such as RAM problem, hard disk problem, overheating issue, etc. In such case, you should contact a technician to check your computer.

Let’s start the tutorial:

1. Have Some Patience and Wait

Yes. You read it right. That’s the first thing which you should do when your machine hangs. Actually most of the time when computer hangs, it might be possible that a particular process, application program is taking too much amount of RAM and CPU resources which makes the whole system unresponsive. Waiting for a few minutes (5-10 minutes) is the best solution in such situations.

When the problematic process completes the task and releases CPU resources, the system becomes responsive again. This is what happened recently with one of my Windows 10 machines. It was freezing for a few minutes and fixing itself automatically. Check out following article for more details:

[Problem] Windows 10 Hangs (Not Responding) For Few Minutes After Restart

Many people continuously click and press random keys if their computer hang. That’s completely wrong! Doing this puts extra load on the computer processing unit and makes the things worst.

So in future if your computer hangs, have some patience, don’t press any key or click anywhere. wait for a few minutes and chances are that your computer starts working again without doing anything.

2. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc Keys Together to Launch Task Manager

If waiting doesn’t help, try this! Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys together on your keyboard. Its a keyboard shortcut (hotkey) to launch Task Manager. If you are lucky, Task Manager will open and now you can check which process is consuming highest CPU resources and RAM amount. You can select the culprit process and click on End Task button. It’ll kill the running process and you should get your working system back.

You can also restart Explorer using Task Manager which will fix the freezing problem. Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10 allows users to restart Explorer using Task Manager.

Check out following tutorial to learn how to restart Explorer using Task Manager:

[Guide] Different Ways to Close and Restart Explorer in Windows

3. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del Keys Together

If you are unable to open Task Manager, use the classic and always working keyboard shortcut i.e. Ctrl+Alt+Del. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys together and it’ll show CAD screen which allows users to log off (sign out), switch user and open Task Manager.

You can also use power options such as restart, shut down, hibernate, sleep from the CAD screen.

So restart or log off using CAD screen and it’ll also fix the hanging problem.

4. Press Win+Ctrl+Shift+B Keys Together

If the traditional Ctrl+Alt+Del method also doesn’t work, here is another keyboard shortcut which can be used when your computer hangs or freezes.

Press Windows logo key+Ctrl+Shift+B keys together. This hotkey will force Windows to refresh the screen by restarting the graphics card driver. You’ll hear a short beep sound and the computer screen will blink or dim for a second.

It should fix the freezing issue.

5. Close and Open Lid of Your Laptop

If your machine is a laptop, you can also try to close and then re-open the lid. Sometimes it also helps in fixing hanging and freezing issues in almost all Windows versions.

6. Kill ‘Em All

If nothing works, then it must be a bad day for you. Now it’s turn of the last method which always works.

Press the power button on your Desktop PC or laptop for a few seconds and it’ll power off the device. Please keep in mind that it’ll forcefully power off the device and you’ll lose all unsaved work.

Now you can switch on the machine again and everything will be back to normal. That’s the best solution if your computer hangs/freezes and nothing works.

  1. 1Check your external devices. It is most likely that one or more external devices connected to the PC are causing the problem. Disconnect all these devices and start up again.
  2. 2Restore your computer to a time before it started to be a problem. Recent hardware/software changes you have made on your PC might also be affecting it. You can resolve the issue by restoring your PC (using System Restore) to a previous working configuration.

Method2 : Freezing at Shutdown

  1. 1Install all available updates.
  2. 2Check if there are any device issues. For this, you must disconnect non-essential hardware e.g., USB devices.
  3. 3Check if the problem also occurs in Safe Mode. If not, uninstall any software that is not being used by you.
  4. 4Scan for any malware, i.e., malicious software.

Method3 : Random Hanging

  1. 1Check for damaged files. A damaged/corrupt system files may be the underlying cause and you can repair such files by running tools like the System File Checker (SFC) or the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM).
  2. 2Try removing new programs. A software compatibility problem may also be a contributing factor, especially if you recently installed an app or driver. You can try to remove it. If you’re not able to, run a System Restore to return the system to a previous working state or another saved restore point before you installed the particular software/ application.
  3. 3Check for a damaged registry configuration. This can happen due to registry cleaning tools; to overcome this problem, you can use System Restore or Refresh to return the system to a previous working configuration.
  4. 4Look for hardware issues. Such disk failure could be a contributory factor, especially if chkdsk runs while starting Windows. In case of repeated failures, try replacing the hard drive. Other faulty hardware can also lead to random hangs; for that, you may run hardware diagnostics.
  5. 5Check for malware. This kind of malicious software may also result in random hangs in Windows. For this, you can run one or more of the online detection tools e.g., Microsoft Safety Scanner.
  6. 6Make sure your antivirus software is up to date. Antivirus software, at times, can cause a random hang in Windows, especially if the antivirus software is out of date, or if you have more than one antivirus running on your PC simultaneously. Uninstall all but one antivirus program, and install the latest updates for your antivirus software.

Method4 : Generic Freezing

  1. 1Check your drivers. A generic freeze may occur due to problems with one or more important drivers such as display drivers, Bluetooth drivers, network drivers, motherboard drivers etc., which can all contribute to temporary freezing of the system. For this you must uninstall the specific driver(s) causing the freeze and reinstall it/them again.
  2. 2Optimize your system. A freeze could as well be part of a general poor performance problem leading to a slow or lagging computer. In such an event, you must optimize your Windows for better performance.

Method5 : Single-App Freezing

  • In case of your PC freezing temporarily while using a specific app, Windows is not the cause, but in all likelihood, there is a conflict with the app that is freezing. In such a single-app freeze, the following steps are recommended:
  1. 1 Be sure to try all steps listed for overcoming a generic freeze.
  2. 2 Install all latest updates for the app.
  3. 3 If you can run the app offline, try running it without being connected to the Internet.
  4. 4 Uninstall and reinstall the app. In order to make sure that the app files and configuration are not damaged, a fresh start can be helpful.

#Top 9 Reasons for “Why Computer Keeps Freezing”

It is important to identify the actual causes for a computer that keeps freezing. The 9 most common causes of why Windows 10, Windows 8 or Windows 7 keeps freezing are shown below.

1. Too Many Programs Opening

Touchscreen Technology : 2021

Posted Leave a commentPosted in TECHNOLOGY

5 Types Of Touch Screen Technology.
Which One Is Best For You?

Touch Screens have become very commonplace in our daily lives: cell phones, ATM’s, kiosks, ticket
vending machines and more all use touch panels to enable the user to interact with a computer or device
without the use of a keyboard or mouse. But did you know there are several uniquely different types of
Touch Screens? The five most common types are: 5-Wire Resistive, Surface Capacitive, Projected
Capacitive, SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave), and Infrared.

Below is a basic description of each technology, and the advantages/disadvantages of each to help you
decide which touch screen type is most appropriate for your needs:

Resistive touch

5-Wire Resistive Touch is the most widely used touch technology today. A resistive touch screen monitor is
composed of a glass panel and a film screen, each covered with a thin metallic layer, separated by a narrow
gap. When a user touches the screen, the two metallic layers make contact, resulting in electrical flow. The
point of contact is detected by this change in voltage.
• Can be activated with virtually any object (finger, stylus, gloved hand, pen, etc.)
• Has tactile feel
• Lowest cost touch technology
• Low power consumption
• Resistant to surface contaminants and liquids (dust, oil, grease, moisture)! !
• Lower image clarity compared to other touch technologies
• Outer polyester film is vulnerable to damage from scratching, poking and sharp objects

Surface Capacitive

Surface Capacitive are the second most popular type of touch screens on the market. In a surface
capacitive touch screen monitor, a transparent electrode layer is placed on top of a glass panel, and covered
by a protective cover. When an exposed finger touches the monitor screen, it reacts to the static electrical
capacity of the human body; some of the electrical charge transfers from the screen to the user. This
decrease in capacitance is detected by sensors located at the four corners of the screen, allowing the
controller to determine the touch point. Capacitive touch screens can only be activated by the touch of
human skin or a stylus holding an electrical charge.
• Better image clarity than Resistive Touch
• Durable screen
• Excellent resistance to surface contaminants and liquids (dust, oil, grease, water droplets)
• High scratch resistance! !
• Requires bare finger or capacitive stylus for activation
• Sensitivity to EMI/RFI

Projected Capacitive

Projected Capacitive is similar to Surface Capacitive, but it offers two primary advantages: in addition to a
bare finger, it can also be activated with surgical gloves or thin cotton gloves; and it enables multi-touch
activation (simultaneous input from two fingers). A projected capacitive is composed of a sheet of glass with
embedded transparent electrode films and an IC chip, which creates a three dimensional electrostatic field.
When a finger comes into contact with the screen, the ratios of the electrical currents change and the
computer is able to detect the touch points.

• Excellent image clarity
• More resistant to scratching than Surface Capacitive
• Resistant to surface contaminants and liquids (dust, oil, grease, moisture)
• Multi-touch (two-touch)
• Sensitive to EMI/RFI
• Must be activated via exposed finger, or thin surgical or cotton gloves

SAW Touch

SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) touch screen monitors utilize a series of piezoelectric transducers and
receivers along the sides of the monitor’s glass plate to create an invisible grid of ultrasonic waves on the
surface. When the panel is touched, a portion of the wave is absorbed. This allows the receiving transducer
to locate the touch point and send this data to the computer. SAW monitors can be activated by a finger,
gloved hand, or soft-tip stylus. SAW monitors offer easy use and high visibility. ! !

• Excellent image clarity
• Even better scratch resistance than capacitive
• High “touch-life”
• Will not activate with hard items (pen, credit card, or fingernail)
• Water droplets may cause false-triggering
• Solid contaminants on the screen can create non-touch areas until they are removed

Infrared (IR) Touch

Infrared touch screen monitors do not overlay the display with an additional screen or screen sandwich.
Instead, infrared monitors use IR emitters and receivers to create an invisible grid of light beams across the
screen. This ensures the best possible image quality. When an object interrupts the invisible infrared light
beam, the sensors are able to locate the touch point.
• Highest image clarity and light transmission of all touch technologies
• Unlimited “touch-life”
• Impervious to surface scratches
• Accidental activation may occur because the infrared beams are actually above the glass
• Dust, oil, or grease buildup on screen or frame could impede light beam causing malfunction
• Sensitive to water, snow, rain
• May be sensitive to ambient light interference
• Higher cost

Blogging Tools & Make Money From Home

Posted 3 CommentsPosted in TECHNOLOGY

Hey , guys we all have same goal as bloggers- to help others and monetize our talents,But with so many different products out there, it can be hard to decide what’s worth buying and what isn’t.

So today I’m sharing an EXTENSIVE list of all of the blogging resources and blog software that I use and recommend as a blogging business .

  • Bluehost: I’ve used Bluehost since Day 1 and still use them to this day. I recommend using shared hosting to begin with (which is what I did) and then upgrading to VPS hosting as you grow (which is what I use for some of my sites now).

Here is my step-by-step tutorial on how to setup your blog with and Bluehost.

  • Cloudflare
  • Ewww Image Optimizer WordPress plugin to compress your images
  • W3 Total Cache WordPress plugin to increase site performance
  • Upgrade your hosting plan or switch from a shared hosting plan to a Virtual Private Server (VPS) plan. Bluehost offers these VPS prices, which I have personally used before.

  • Akismet plugin for free cloud-based and anti-spam plugins

  • BackWPup plugin (For WordPress- can be used with Dropbox, which is also free.)

*Note: Yes, I’m incredibly old-fashioned and I use notebooks and legal pads to write the majority of my outlines for videos and blog posts. With a young kiddo at home, I try to limit how much he sees me sit in front of a computer. Writing this way helps with that goal.

  • Excel spreadsheet or Google Sheets
  • QuickBooks (Get 50% off the Self-Employed software, which is what I use, by using my link here)
  • Freshbooks (for freelance work if you’re invoicing people, etc.)

How do bloggers get paid?

Whenever someone is first introduced to the world of blogging, invariably the first question is “How do bloggers get paid?”

Here are some ways that bloggers make money. I won’t be able to go into great detail on how each of these work, nor have I used every one of these to make money.

First, here are a couple of things to handle before the money making moves. You may want to make sure your blog is hosted by a highly recomended Host . Avoid free hosting that can break your business.

Give your blog a pro look and feel. Don’t pick free themes to dabble with. I know it’s always difficult to cut the right choice. But for travel bloggers who blog on WordPress, you may want to pick one of these WordPress Travel Blog Themes.

Advertising is really a cool way bloggers make money on their blog. I want us to further break this down so we get a clearer picture

1 – Advertise your own products:

Now this is surely more straight forward. If you are an author, your blog will be a great avenue to advertise your own products.

To boost sales, you may want to cut down prices or offer special discount to your blog readers. So you find out you can Make money selling your own products on your blog.

2 – Advertise Affiliate products:

I often say you don’t need to be an author to make money online. Affiliate products are products that pay you a commission per sale.

What happens here is simple. You may want to sign up platforms like ClickBankCommission JunctionJVZoo, etc and get products that you know can pay pretty good commissions. For the most part, you’ll get banners and other sales tools to use on your blog while you make the money.

While the commission share is attractive, you have to rather focus on the relevance of the product to your target readership.

Many bloggers earn cash and make good money or generate six figure income simply focusing on affiliate marketing.

3 – Google Adsense Ads:

Google Adsense is one of the excellent pay per click ad networks and an important source of income. However, I often advise bloggers not to be in a hurry.

The downside of this advertising model is simply that it takes your visitors away from your blog so quickly. Google does not allow publishers control over how to set the target window of Adsense links.

That means visitors who click the Adsense links will be completely taken away from your blog and that’s not want we want as bloggers.

We want our visitors to hang around our blog for as long as possible to increase time on site and maybe reduce bounce rate. Anything that does not favor this should seriously be given a second thought.

Google has recently come up with the AutoAds feature which in my opinion goes a long way to auto-optimize and displace more targeted creatives and ads to your readers. While popular opinion holds that this feature can increase earnings by up to 10%, I have personally experienced more.

4 – Sell banner space:

Now, this is another winner! Nevertheless, be careful not to make your blog stuffed with banners. You can make a decent monthly income selling different banner spaces on your blog.

The more your blog traffic, the more impressions you get per portion and the more you can charge. Some blogs charge up to $1000/month per 125×125 ad space.

5 – Sell links on posts:

This is another exciting way bloggers make money blogging. However. it makes you an enemy to search engines. Google seriously frowns against link sales so you do this at your own risk.

A quick tip will be to make the link a nofollow so you don’t pass on the juice to the buyer’s url. Doing this will reverse your income opportunity as advertisers who buy links are often more interested in the link juice.

6 – Special events:

Some bloggers with very popular blogs get paid huge sums to announce special events on their blogs. This may go along with special videos aimed at spreading more information about the event.

7 – Publishing paid guest articles:

Guest posting is a common activity in blogging where bloggers develop content for other blogs. While some bloggers scramble to have free articles published on their blogs, others charge for it.

There are platforms today where you can meet advertisers who are ready to pay you to have their articles on your blog. Some folks start a blog and make huge online income with paid guest post.

– > Product reviews

Product reviews is another income channel that brings in quite handsome amounts of earnings. There are two ways bloggers make money blogging and reviewing products:

8 – a) Paid product reviews:

This is quite simple! Product owners pay you a certain amount of money to have you write a review post about their products. In this case, you get paid once and how much money you make depends on your blog traffic.

NB: Due to the fact that Google frowns at paid dofollow links, you have to be careful with this option.

9 – b) Affiliate product reviews:

Bloggers may not want to sit back and wait for vendors to pay them before creating a review post. Another smart step is to review relevant high converting products on their blogs and link to them (these products) on their affiliate links.

Any sale that is made through that review post generates commission. The beauty here is that this will keep generating commissions for as long as the post gets traffic (referral and/or search engine).

B – How bloggers make money blogging off their blogs

Now as a blogger, there are many other ways to make money online. Let’s see some of the things you can do outside your blog and earn some money;

10 – Paid to speak at events:

Most bloggers with authentic success stories are speakers during blogging events. Of course, they get paid to speak on specific topics and share their knowledge with participants. That’s another way big or pro bloggers make money.

11 – Paid to set up blogs:

If you have a little knowledge in setting up a blog, you can always have business. New blogs are published daily so one of the ways to make money as blogger is help beginners set up their blogs for a fee

12 – Paid to guest post on other blogs:

I mentioned above that you can charge a fee for content posted on your blog by other bloggers or SEO firms. In the same manner, you can be paid to post content on other blogs. That’s how it works. In this post, I show you how I was paid $100 per post I submitted to another blog. There are several of such opportunities where you are paid to submit content

13 – Paid to mentor:

It’s becoming increasingly clear that to succeed online, you need a mentor else you’ll have to learn the hard way. Another most successful bloggers get paid to coach younger bloggers to success.

14 – Contest and Win:

There are many cash prize contests and giveaways online today. All you need is enter, follow instructions and you could just be a winner. For the most part, bloggers make use of their blogging power to earn more points and stand a better chance to win.

15 – Paid to Tweet:

To be a successful blogger, you have to be active on social media. Bloggers with a considerable social media base get paid to tweet to their followers on Twitter. This also goes for Facebook.

Bonus – Make money on the internet

If you are a successful blog with an active community, they are going to always be some unthinking ways to generate income.

1 – Give help to companies and authors

I was recently contacted by an affiliate company to help them recruit affiliates to promote their new products. This earned me up to 50$ per qualified affiliate. This was a profitable deal as the product in question was super targeted to my audience. While promoting the product as an affiliate, I made more money recruiting more affiliates for the author.

2 – Focus on recurring income products

Many successful bloggers make money blogging by promoting affiliate products that pay recurring commissions. In this option, you generate the sale once but earn from month to month.

This is typical of a membership platform where the clients pay periodically to renew their memberships. Each time they are re-billed for account renewal, you earn your commissions.

Smart and savvy bloggers who understand the money making game and want to work less and earn more would focus on promoting this class of products to consistently generate affiliate sales.

3 – Get paid to take surveys

Another quick way for bloggers to earn extra money is to signup to paid survey sites. On these sites, you simply get paid to take surveys while working from home.

Some survey companies are not credible. They advertise paid surveys but at the end, you don’t just make any money taking taking online surveys with them. So do your due diligence and avoid scams

4 – Many other ways to make money on the internet

You can take blogging as a full time job. There are blogging related activities that open up other easy ways to make money. Many bloggers are freelance writer. As there is much freelance work out there, freelance writing is a quick addition to your income streams.

You can easily get jobs on platforms like Odesk, freelancer, Fiverr, Amazon mechanical turk, etc. Most of these paid your earnings straight to your Paypal account.

How to boost your income.

The amount money you make from your blog depends on a number of factors, one of which is targeted traffic. With a proper monetizing strategy, the more relevant traffic you get, the more money you make. As a result of driving traffic from search engines, you will constantly receive attention from advertisers.

Focus on getting more traffic to your blog from search engine optimization, social media and blog community sites like BlogEngageBizSugar and a couple of others.

Now, there is no way to make money fast as a blogger. Like many top money making bloggers like Pat Flynn, John Chow, etc, you need to work hard and give yourself time to build the business up.
